The Ride for Red October
The K-bike died 400 miles from home and I rented a truck to bring it home. Hence vacation is kaput… Seems the next blog post should be the repair of the mototcycle.
The moment the motorcycle stalled and the credit became my ride- helluva vacation. 37 hours total of mayhem and disappointmaent. That’s life!
This is what it looks like arriving at sundown with the rest of the rain from hurricane Helene starting to pour down.
What it was inteded to be- que sera sera…
Two men, two BMW motorcycles, 1987 R80 & 1985 K100RS, head out on “The Ride for Red October” to experience the Autumn New England foliage colors. Each day the journey will be updated with text and photographs. Journey is starting September 27th through October 2nd.
Certainly looking for any advice and information on any places to check out along the way. Historical/hysterical locations for sure and and ethnic food experiences. Prefer Eastern European, Southeast Asian, and Caribbean foods plus brew pubs. Live music venues too, as we are live music fanatics. Smash the “Contact” button on the top menu and drop us a line on any places we should explore. Cheers!
Here’s the operational plan for The Ride for Red October over 6 days in New England, USA.
September 27th to October 2nd
- Lake Placid, New York – 2 nights
- Keene, New Hampshire
- Old Greenwich, Connecticut
- Egremont, Massachusetts – 2 nights
Note: Map routes are draft estimates.
