STOP THE PRESS – I HAVE CHANGED MOTOR OILS AS OF 2025!
My motor requires API SF rated oil. Alas that is dino oil containing a good amount of ZDDP. In addition the early K bike engines have a wet starter sprag clutch needing a good detergent additive formula. The benefits of full synthetic are well known. Recently I came across a lot of information wathing videos the spectactular YouTube channel hosted by the Motor Oil Geek. After after studying the following specifications of Super Tech Full Synthetic Heavy Duty SAE 15W40 Motor Oil, 1 Gallon available at WalMart for US$16.00 per gallon. The winter of 2025 has been furious here in NE Ohio and cold starts have been a breeze switching to this oil.
